Simba SC goalkeeper Moussa Camara is expected to undergo knee surgery that could rule him out of action for up to 12 weeks, after he sustained an injury during the CAF Champions League preliminary match against Gaborone United at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Camara has been struggling with the injury since last season, and doctors have emphasized that surgery is the only way to restore him to full fitness.
The club has confirmed that Camara will depart the country tomorrow, Saturday, heading to Morocco for his treatment.
With Camara expected to be out for several weeks, Simba will continue to rely heavily on their second-choice goalkeeper, Yacoub Suleiman.
Yacoub has already featured in four competitive matches for Simba, stepping in after Camara’s injury.
The third-choice goalkeeper, Hussein Abel, remains available but has had limited opportunities in the squad.
