Simba’s General Manager, Dimitar Pantev, has said that following their Premier League victory over JKT Tanzania, the team has no time to waste as they now shift their focus to the CAF Champions League group stage.
Pantev acknowledged that the schedule presents a challenge, as there will be limited preparation time after the FIFA international break.
However, he emphasized that Simba is a big club that must always be ready, expressing confidence that the fans’ support will play a major role in their upcoming match against Petro Atlético.
“We have a FIFA break, but after that, we face tough matches in the group stage of the Champions League,” said Pantev.
“We won’t have much time to prepare together. Some players will be away on international duty, and when they return, we’ll have about three or four days to train as a group,” he added.
“Our next match won’t be easy, but we’ll prepare well — and without a doubt, our fans will be there to support us.”
Simba, placed in Group D, will begin their campaign against Petro Atlético on November 21 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium. It’s a crucial match that Simba will aim to win.
To secure a quarter-final spot, Simba’s strategy is to win all three home matches and collect at least two points away from home.
