During the transfer window, there was a lot of talk surrounding the signing of midfielder Allasane Kante, a Senegalese player who joined Simba from a relatively modest club in Tunisia.
As the Swahili saying goes, many people were “misled” and thought Simba had signed a “flop,” but the Msimbazi giants pulled off a masterstroke by landing a real gem from Tunisia.
Kante is a true midfield powerhouse — a master passer. He keeps things simple, and when the ball is at his feet, it obeys his command.
Simba fans are eager to see him play more minutes. For now, he is being used cautiously, as he is still recovering from an injury sustained during pre-season.
Kante and Naby Camara have continued to impress in Simba’s midfield, and together with Yusuph Kagoma, they are expected to form the backbone of the team in that area.
