Simba goalkeeper Moussa Camara could be sidelined for an extended period due to a recurring knee injury, it has been revealed.
Reports from within the club indicate that the Guinean international is expected to undergo knee surgery, which could keep him out of action for up to 12 weeks.
As a result, the Simba management is reportedly considering signing another goalkeeper during the mid-season transfer window next month to strengthen the department.
For now, Simba continues to rely on Yacoub Suleiman, who has been the team’s first-choice goalkeeper in recent matches and is also a key figure for the Tanzania national team, *Taifa Stars*.
It is understood that Simba’s Head Coach, Dimitar Pantev, has recommended the signing of both a new goalkeeper and an attacking midfielder once the transfer window opens.
Camara sustained the injury during the second-leg preliminary round match of the CAF Champions League against Gaborone United at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
The setback aggravated an old injury he first suffered last season in a Premier League clash against Azam FC, which kept him out for more than 10 weeks.
