After reaching the group stage of the CAF Champions League (CAFCL), Simba have guaranteed themselves a payout of TSh 1.7 billion from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
In this season’s prize structure, CAF has announced that teams qualifying for the CAF Champions League group stage will each receive USD 700,000 (TSh 1.7 billion).
This amount is in addition to funds already issued by CAF to all teams from the preliminary rounds, totalling roughly USD 100,000 — over TSh 240 million.
The total prize money could increase to TSh 2.2 billion if the Msimbazi Reds reach the quarter-finals, TSh 2.9 billion for the semi-finals, TSh 5 billion for reaching the final, with the ultimate winner earning TSh 10 billion.
Simba have set a record by reaching the group stage of CAF competitions seven times in the past eight years — twice in the Confederation Cup (2021–2022 and 2024–2025) and five times in the Champions League (2018–2019, 2020–2021, 2022–2023, 2023–2024, and now 2025–2026).
