Simba’s Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ali, has urged the club’s supporters to continue buying their tickets ahead of the second-leg match for a place in the CAF Champions League group stage against Nsingizini Hotspurs to be played on Sunday, October 26 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Ahmed said tickets are currently being sold at a very high rate and warned supporters to buy theirs early to avoid last-minute inconveniences.
Ahmed said Sunday’s match against Nsingizini Hotspurs carries special significance for Simba in terms of the club’s history and that special events have been prepared.
“For us this match has huge meaning, it is of great value and we need it very much.”
“This match comes with many new fundamentals that we are going to witness for the first time on Tanzanian soil.”
“We are about to write history by becoming the third club in Africa to qualify for the CAF Champions League for the seventh consecutive time.”
“No club in Africa has done this apart from Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly. The other African team that has been assured of making the group stage seven times in a row is Simba.”
Ahmed also said Sunday’s match will be used to congratulate the players and the leadership after the club entered the race for the Best Men’s Team of the Year award, while captain Shomari Kapombe is in contention for the Player of the Year award.
“Our team has been named among the top ten teams in Africa contending for the Best Team award for last season. This is not a normal thing — it is huge and it has increased the value of our club.”
“This has added honour to our club and therefore we, as Simba supporters, have every reason to show in action our delight. We have every reason to go and congratulate our leaders and our players on October 26, especially those who were here last season.”
“Also, our captain Shomari Kapombe has been announced among the top 10 players in Africa vying for the award. It is an honour for Kapombe, for Simba and for our football in Tanzania. We must on October 26 go and congratulate Kapombe at that match,” said Ahmed.
