Simba attacking midfielder Kibu Denis says he applied the instructions given to him by General Manager Dimitar Pantev to great effect, scoring the two goals that sealed Simba’s 3–0 victory over Nsingizini Hotspurs and placed the team in a strong position to qualify for the group stage.
Speaking after the match played in Eswatini yesterday, Kibu said Pantev had instructed him to exploit his pace against the Nsingizini Hotspurs defenders who are not quick.
“The match was not easy, Nsingizini Hotspurs are not a bad team, but Simba won this game because of our quality and the game plan we executed.”
“While I was on the bench I studied the game carefully, and when I came on there were clear instructions from the coach — I thank God I followed them and helped my team to win.”
“The coach told me their defenders are heavy, so we should play balls behind them — I thank him because that advice led to me scoring the second goal,” said Kibu.
Kibu said he will continue scoring for Simba whenever he gets the chance, although the most important thing for him is to play well and help the team.
“I am a forward — I don’t have pressure about scoring. I will keep scoring whenever I get the chance, but what matters most to me is to play well and help my team,” Kibu added.
