The Head of Media and Communications at Simba SC, Ahmed Ali, has said that despite Nsingizini Hotspurs having no record in international club competitions, Simba will play them today “as equals”.
At 4 pm the Lions will be on the pitch in Eswatini hunting for crucial results that will put them in a good position to reach the group stage.
Ahmed said a team’s quality is not about history or records but about planning within the 90 minutes. Therefore they know it will not be an easy match and Simba must fight to get a good result away from home.
Through his Instagram page, Ahmed wrote this message:
“If you look for Nsingizini in CAF rankings you won’t find them.
If you look at them in CAF records you won’t find them.
If you dig into their CAF competition history you’ll only find the 8–0 loss to Stellenbosch.
Basically they have nothing to be proud of in African competitions.
But that is not a reason to underestimate them — team quality is not about history or records but the plan for the 90 minutes of that day.
Therefore today’s match must be viewed with a serious eye, given great dignity and prepared for in a big way.
We must not underrate today’s match even for one second. We play the way Simba play in these international games — in short, we must be fully alert.
God willing we will get what we want and Simba fans will rejoice.”
