Today, Sunday October 19, Simba SC will be away in Eswatini to face Nsingizini Hotspurs in the first-leg match of the CAF Champions League group stage qualifiers.
It is a crucial 90 minutes for the Msimbazi Reds to start the first leg strongly on away soil.
Simba arrived early in Eswatini and had time to complete their final preparations, including adapting to the cold weather currently prevailing in the area. This has been part of their planning strategy to avoid the effects of environmental change in today’s match.
This is the first competitive match for Dimitar Pantev as Simba’s head coach since taking over from Fadlu Davids, who joined Raja CA of Morocco.
Pantev has made clear his intention to seek an away win along with quality football, as a foundation for giving themselves a strong chance before returning to Dar es Salaam for the second leg.
The clash is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 PM Tanzania time, while in Eswatini it will be 3:00 PM in the afternoon.
Simba’s journey in pursuit of a place in the group stage begins today. A positive result away from home will give them an advantage to finish the job at home in front of their supporters and continue with their season objectives.
