Although included in the Guinea national team squad, Simba goalkeeper Moussa Camara has been granted time off to fully recover from an injury that has been troubling him.
Camara sustained the injury during the second leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round match against Gaborone United, played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, which ended in a 1–1 draw.
He started that match but was substituted after picking up the injury, with Yacoub Suleiman taking his place. Suleiman also started in goal during the Premier League match against Namungo FC.
Camara, who is the first-choice goalkeeper for the Guinea national team, did not feature in their previous match against Mozambique and is likely to be rested again in today’s final World Cup qualifier against Botswana.
The goalkeeper is expected to be fit and ready to return for Simba’s upcoming CAF Champions League match against Nsingizini Hotspurs on Sunday in Eswatini — the first-leg fixture of the qualification round for the group stage.
