The Simba SC squad is scheduled to depart the country on Thursday, heading to Eswatini in preparation for the first-leg match of the CAF Champions League playoff round against Nsingizini Hotspurs.
The match is set to take place on Sunday, October 19, at 3:00 p.m. local time in Eswatini, which is 4:00 p.m. in Tanzania.
It is reported that Simba’s head coach, Dimitar Pentev, has requested the team to arrive early to allow at least three days for acclimatization and final preparations under Eswatini’s weather conditions.
This is a vital fixture for Pentev, marking his first competitive match in charge, as he carries the responsibility of guiding Simba into the CAF Champions League group stage.
His predecessor, Fadlu Davids, left a strong legacy in continental competition last season by leading Simba to the final of the CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC).
This season, Simba are aiming even higher, with their sights firmly set on making a deep run in the CAF Champions League (CAFCL).
