Simba SC have officially chosen the Meja Jenerali Isamuhyo Stadium as their home ground for NBC Premier League and CRDB Federation Cup matches.
Good news for the Reds of Msimbazi is that the installation of floodlights at the stadium has been completed, making it possible to host matches both during the day and at night.
The first night match at the venue was between JKT Tanzania, who own the stadium, and Azam FC, even though the floodlight installation had not been fully completed at the time.
Engineer Victor Ndozero, who supervised the installation, confirmed that the work is now fully done and that the lighting system meets the standards required for league and other competitive matches.
Ndozero commended the Tanzania Premier League Board for supporting the project, adding that teams can now safely host night matches at the facility without any concern.
Simba are expected to maintain a similar night-match schedule to what they had at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, which they previously used before it was closed for renovation.
Their first possible night game at Meja Jenerali Isamuhyo is expected to be against the hosts, JKT Tanzania, on November 5.
