Simba SC have resumed training in preparation for their CAF Champions League qualification matches. On October 19, the Reds of Msimbazi will begin their campaign away in Eswatini against Nsingizini Hotspurs, before hosting the return leg a week later in Dar es Salaam.
The first major test for Simba’s General Manager, Dimitar Pantev, will be to guide the team into the group stage of the prestigious continental competition.
Although he has had limited time to prepare, Pantev has inherited a squad full of quality players—something he has expressed pride in.
After completing their CAF Champions League assignment against Nsingizini, Pantev’s men will face a congested NBC Premier League schedule with three games in quick succession.
On October 30, Simba will travel to Tabora to face TRA United (formerly Tabora United), before returning to Dar es Salaam to take on Azam FC on November 2.
Three days later, on November 5, Simba will play away against JKT Tanzania at the Meja Jenerali Isamuhyo Stadium—a venue they also use for their home matches, making it a local 'Isamuhyo Derby'.
After those fixtures, the league will take a three-week break to allow for the FIFA international window.
