It appears that just five matches have been enough to confirm the quality of outstanding defender Rushine de Reuck, and now Simba SC’s management is planning to secure him on a long-term contract.
Reports from within the club indicate that talks between Simba’s management and the South African defender have already begun, with the aim of ensuring that the player remains with the Msimbazi Reds for a longer period.
Rushine joined Simba from South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns on a one-year deal, but his impressive performances since arriving at Msimbazi have convinced the club’s hierarchy to extend his stay.
Before joining Simba, De Reuck was on loan at Israeli club Maccabi Petah Tikva. His signing was recommended by former Simba head coach Fadlu Davids, who has since left the club.
Since starting his career at Msimbazi, De Reuck has been a dependable figure in Simba’s defense, partnering effectively with Abdulrazak Hamza and Chamou Karaboue. In five competitive matches, he has played all 450 minutes, with the team conceding only two goals during that period.
Beyond his defensive duties, the center-back has also proven a threat in attack, scoring two goals in the NBC Premier League and earning the Man of the Match award against Namungo FC.
Simba are reportedly considering extending his contract by one or two years, depending on the outcome of negotiations. The goal is to make him part of the long-term rebuilding project aimed at domestic and continental success.
