Simba SC is in the final stages of appointing a new head coach to replace Fadlu Davids, who left the club to join Raja CA.
Reports from within the club suggest that many coaches submitted their CVs for consideration, while Simba also reached out to other tacticians whose coaching philosophy aligns with the Msimbazi Reds.
The name of the new coach is expected to be officially announced by the end of this week, with the coach set to officially assume his duties on Monday, October 6.
Following their 3-0 victory over Namungo FC yesterday, Simba players were given a few days off and will return to camp on Monday to begin preparations for the CAF Champions League first leg play-off match against Nsingizini Hotspurs, scheduled for October 16–18.
The two most mentioned names to take over are Dimitar Pantev and Nasreddine Nabi.
Nabi has been in Tanzania for several days, with reports indicating that he has already held talks with Simba officials. However, reliable sources reveal that Pantev may be the one most likely to succeed Fadlu Davids.
Pantev is currently in charge of Gaborone United, who were eliminated by Simba in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. Despite Simba advancing with a 2-1 aggregate victory, Gaborone United were considered the better team over the two legs.
It is reported that Pantev has already said his goodbyes to Gaborone United players, and there is a strong possibility he could arrive at Msimbazi soon. Simba is handling the process with utmost secrecy, but the final decision is expected to be made public within the next two days.
