Simba SC attacking midfielder Joshua Mutale, popularly known as "Budo," brought joy to Msimbazi fans yesterday after a standout performance in their crucial victory over Namungo FC in the Premier League clash at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Coach Selemani Matola handed him a starting spot ahead of Jean Charles Ahoua, and Mutale did not disappoint. Dominating the midfield, he became the pillar of Simba’s attacking play.
Simba’s opening goal came from his expertly delivered corner kick, which set up Carabou Chamou to score just before halftime.
Mutale was involved again in the second goal when he set up defender Anthony Mligo, who was fouled. The resulting free-kick was taken by Neo Maema and calmly finished by Rushine De Reuck, who netted his second goal of the season.
De Reuck walked away with the Man of the Match award, not only for his goal but also for his solid defensive display throughout the game.

Alongside Mutale, attacking midfielder Morice Abraham was also a constant threat to Namungo’s defense, with his pace and dangerous passes. Together, Budo and Abraham gave Namungo’s backline a difficult night.
