Simba SC chairman Murtaza Mangungu has urged fans and members of the club to remain calm as the management continues the process of appointing a new head coach.
Mangungu made the statement yesterday after the second-leg preliminary round CAF Champions League match against Gaborone United at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
He confirmed that the club is in the final stages of completing the process of hiring a new coach and could make an announcement this week.
"I congratulate coach Hemed Morocco and all the players. We got an important result that allowed us to progress to the next round," Mangungu said.
"It was not an easy match, as everyone saw, but the most important thing for us was to qualify for the next round, and we have achieved that."
"We ask our fans and members to remain calm as we finalize the process of getting a new coach. We will make the announcement this week," he added.
Simba advanced to the first round with a 2-1 aggregate victory, following their 1-0 away win in the first leg.
In the first round, Simba will face Nsingizini Hotspurs of Eswatini, with the first leg scheduled to be played in Eswatini between October 17-18, before the return leg a week later in Dar es Salaam.
