Simba SC will be forced to play without fans in the second-leg preliminary round of the CAF Champions League against Gaborone United.
After securing a 1–0 victory in the first leg played in Francistown, Botswana, Simba will host the return fixture on Sunday, September 28, at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, kicking off at 4:00 p.m.
The club had appealed to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) against the ban preventing them from admitting fans into the stadium, but the appeal was rejected.
The Reds of Msimbazi were sanctioned following incidents that occurred last season during the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final match against Al Masry, when fans invaded the pitch after Simba triumphed 4–1 on penalties to reach the semi-finals.
On Sunday, Simba will need a win or any draw to advance to the First Round.
