Simba SC assistant coach Selemani Matola says preparations ahead of their league match against Fountain Gate are going well, with the Reds of Msimbazi determined to start the season on a high by securing all three points in Thursday’s clash at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
After returning from Botswana, where they claimed a 1-0 victory over Gaborone United in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, Simba resumed training yesterday under Matola and interim head coach Hemed Morocco in readiness for the Fountain Gate test.
Speaking during a pre-match press conference, Matola emphasized that Simba’s plan is to ensure the three points remain at home.
“We’ve had good preparation time since returning from Botswana. All players are motivated and in high spirits ahead of tomorrow’s game. We are ready to secure all three points.”
“We know it won’t be an easy match because Fountain Gate lost their first game, so they will not want to suffer back-to-back defeats.”
“But we want to start the season strongly, so what we need to do is fight and win this game,” Matola said.
