Simba SC head coach, Fadlu Davids, is reportedly in negotiations with the club’s management to terminate his contract just hours after leading the Reds of Msimbazi to a 1-0 victory in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League against Botswana’s Gaborone United.
After losing four consecutive matches to archrivals Yanga, Fadlu has found himself under immense pressure both internally and externally, with some voices pushing for his departure.
Despite winning against Gaborone United yesterday, many Simba fans were left unimpressed by the team’s performance, further intensifying the pressure on his future.
Reports from within the club suggest that the relationship between Fadlu and management deteriorated further after he initially refused to travel with the squad to Botswana, having learned that Simba officials were allegedly plotting to dismiss him due to poor results against Yanga since his arrival last season.
Although he eventually agreed to lead the team in Botswana, insiders claim the arrangement was made under the condition that he would resign immediately after the match.
Meanwhile, the South African coach is already being linked with a swift return to the dugout. Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca, who dismissed their coach yesterday following a disappointing start to the Moroccan Premier League, are reportedly interested in him.
