Simba’s Board Chairman, Crescentius Magori, has sent a message to fans urging them to remain united in supporting their team to ensure the club achieves its goals this season.
Magori made this statement a day after the Community Shield match against Yanga, played at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium yesterday, which Simba lost 1-0.
He admitted that losing yet another match to Yanga was not the result fans wanted, but stressed the importance of moving past it in order to focus on the season ahead.
“I know it’s very difficult to keep losing against Yanga in these past two years; but I ask that we forget this match so we can continue to have a good season ahead,” he said.
“I strongly urge all Simba fans to avoid divisions; they won’t help us at this time. As leaders, we will continue working day and night to restore Simba’s status,” he added.
“Yesterday’s game, it was bad luck. We had the chance to be 2-0 up before halftime, but that’s football! Let’s remain united; the season has just started,” wrote Magori on his social media account.
Meanwhile, Magori also expressed dissatisfaction with the officiating, insisting that Yanga’s goal should not have stood as he believed the scorer was in an offside position.
