Simba head coach Fadlu Davids has declared that his squad is ready for the Community Shield match against Yanga, set to take place tomorrow, Tuesday, at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the game, Fadlu expressed optimism, noting that Simba approaches the derby with great confidence.
The South African coach highlighted Simba’s advantage of maintaining its technical bench from last season, along with the reinforcements made during the transfer window.
“We’ve had good preparation time. We have the advantage of continuity since there have been no changes in our technical bench,” he said.
“In addition, we’ve strengthened the squad with several new players, and for some of them this will be their first derby. They have the energy and motivation to perform well in this match.”
“I think the pressure will be on our opponents. Last season, they won all the domestic titles and now they have a new coach.”
“We’re heading into this match at the right moment. We’ll use experienced derby players and others whom I believe will add strength in specific areas,” Fadlu added.
Fadlu also revealed that Mohammed Bajaber and Alassane Kante will miss the game due to injuries, while Semfuko has recovered and will be available for selection.
