Simba SC Board Member Azim Dewji has said that the responsibility of the newly appointed board members is to restore Simba’s spirit of competing for domestic and international titles.
Dewji is among the new members appointed by Simba’s Honorary President and billionaire investor, Mohammed Dewji ‘Mo,’ to join the Board of Directors.
He emphasized unity and solidarity among all Simba stakeholders, assuring fans that the newly appointed members bring vast experience in Tanzanian football and, more importantly, are people of firm principles.
“Although it is too early to speak about what we intend to do, once we sit down together and plan, we will have good answers. I understand the hunger of Simba fans — we haven’t won major trophies domestically or internationally for a long time.”
“It is important to compete for domestic titles, but international competitions are equally important. Even if you don’t win locally, securing an international trophy is still vital. We will work hard to achieve success both at home and abroad.”
“All those who have been appointed are experienced people, so I don’t think the task will be too difficult because we all understand football and stand firm. We are determined to take Simba to greater heights.”
“What matters most is unity and solidarity within the club. Without unity, the club will falter, and when the club falters, results don’t come. We will work to unite the team, management, members, and fans into one strong force,” said Dewji.
Yesterday, Mo appointed Crescentius Magori as Chairman of the Board, while naming Barbara Gonzalez, Hussein King, Azim Dewji, Rashid Shangazi, Swedi Mkwabi, Zuly Chandoo, and George Ruhango as board members representing the investor’s side.
