The build-up to Simba Day was officially launched today in Kibamba, Dar es Salaam, led by Simba’s Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ali.
Speaking at the event, which also marked the inauguration of the Simba Kibamba Branch, Ahmed urged fans (Wanasimba) to turn out in large numbers at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Wednesday, September 10, for the grand entertainment festival that holds a special place in Tanzania’s sporting history.
In addition, during this Simba Week, Ahmed encouraged fans to actively participate in various community service initiatives.
“This week, we are engaging in acts that please God — supporting orphans, helping the elderly and widows. I urge Wanasimba of Kibamba to give back to the community, and the blessings will directly come back to Simba Club,” he said.
“I also take this opportunity to welcome you to Simba Day — only six days remain. Every Wanasimba should be at the stadium on September 10. It will be a shame if fans from Mbeya, Mwanza, and Shinyanga make the trip while you from Kibamba stay at home. Come and enjoy Simba for yourself. You have no reason to remain home while others are at the stadium.”

“My brothers and sisters, this year we’ve prepared big things. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, it will be non-stop entertainment. I order all Simba branches: it is forbidden to turn on the TV at your branch on Simba Day. All members must go to the stadium. The only role of the branch that day is to meet in the morning and head to the stadium together,” Ahmed concluded.
