Today was a special day for Simba SC fans across Tanzania as they came out in large numbers to participate in a blood donation campaign. The initiative is part of the ongoing activities marking Simba Week, which began on August 31 and will culminate with the highly anticipated Simba Day celebrations.
In Dar es Salaam, the exercise was conducted at Zakhiem Grounds in Mbagala and at Karume Grounds, attracting a strong turnout from the “Wanamsimbazi.” The event was led by Simba’s Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ali, who encouraged fans to not only support the club on the pitch but also to play a role in saving lives off it.
“This is what Simba stands for — unity, compassion, and giving back to the community. Blood donation is an act of humanity, and we are proud to see our fans embracing this cause wholeheartedly,” said Ahmed Ali.
Simba Week is a tradition where fans and the club engage in various social and community development activities leading up to Simba Day, one of East Africa’s biggest football festivals. The celebrations will climax on September 10 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium with an international friendly against Gor Mahia of Kenya, alongside entertainment and the unveiling of Simba’s 2025/26 squad.
Through this campaign, Simba SC continues to strengthen its identity as more than just a football club, using sport as a platform to bring positive change to society.
