Simba’s squad returns to training camp starting today, Monday, just hours after coming back from Cairo, Egypt, where they had spent a month in camp playing four international friendly matches.
Simba began with a short camp in Dar es Salaam before traveling to Ismailia, Egypt, on July 30, where they stayed for two weeks before moving to Cairo. They wrapped up the camp last Thursday before returning to Tanzania, giving their players a short break.
Reports from inside the club indicate that the players are expected to resume training at the Mo Simba Arena as they prepare for the *Simba Day* celebrations scheduled for September 10, followed by the Community Shield clash against rivals Yanga six days later.
After the Community Shield match, which will be played at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Simba will travel to Gaborone, Botswana, for the first leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round tie against hosts Gaborone United.
Given the tight schedule, Simba’s squad will have no rest until after the first leg in Botswana. They will then return for their first 2025/26 Premier League match against Fountain Gate on September 25, before facing Gaborone United again four days later in the return leg.
