Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has expressed his satisfaction with his squad’s progress after four weeks of pre-season training in Egypt.
Today, Simba will wrap up their final friendly match against FS Fassel of Liberia before returning to Tanzania on Thursday.
Speaking after yesterday’s win over Wadi Degla, Fadlu admitted that he still needs an additional striker who can make a difference in decisive big matches.
“To be open, I still need one player with the X Factor in the attack. I know we’ve received massive support from President Mo Dewji, and his contribution this season has been huge,” he said.
“I hope as we approach the end of the transfer window, Jayrutty can help us secure that one big player who can bring a difference in the final third,” he added.
“You remember in some tough matches last season we lacked a big player who could give us that X Factor. In games like the CAF Confederation Cup final and even the season-ender against Yanga, we were missing such a player,” he emphasized.
“We need to perform well in the domestic league, but we also have major tasks to accomplish internationally,” Fadlu told Azam TV.
Meanwhile, Simba have brought back striker Seleman Mwalimu, who was playing for Wydad CA. Reports indicate his transfer has already been finalized, and he will join the squad in Dar es Salaam.
