Simba head coach Fadlu Davids says the team is on the right path in their pre-season preparations, which conclude today in Egypt.
Yesterday, Simba played a friendly match against Egyptian Premier League side Wadi Degla and secured a 2–0 victory, with goals from Elie Mpanzu and Kibu Denis.
Fadlu noted that although his team started the game slowly, they dominated in the second half and played attacking football.
“We started a bit slowly in the first half, I think the extreme heat played a role, but in the second half we came back much stronger.”
“We attacked with pace and managed to score those goals. I congratulate my players— I always emphasize to them that this is how we need to play,” said Fadlu.
Simba will return to action today for their final friendly match against Liberia’s FS Fassel, which will mark the end of their four-week pre-season camp in Egypt.
The team is expected to arrive back in Dar es Salaam tomorrow, Thursday, to begin preparations for the Simba Day celebrations, whose climax will be on September 10.
