Simba Club’s Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ali, has called on all Tanzanians, regardless of their club affiliations, to come together and attend in large numbers at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Friday, August 22, for the CHAN 2024 quarterfinal match against Morocco.
Ahmed stated that after Tanzania advanced to the quarterfinals as the team with the most points in the group stage, Tanzanians should show up at Mkapa Stadium to give the players the recognition they deserve for their group stage performance.
He noted that fan attendance during the group stage was low, and heading into the quarterfinals, everyone must take responsibility.
On his Instagram page, Ahmed wrote the following message:
“We are heading to the CHAN quarterfinals against Morocco on August 22. We must admit that the group stage was not the best for us in terms of the stands.”
“Even though our team performed the best overall, they did not receive the same recognition and fan response. This is not a time for complaints, but a time for everyone to fulfill their responsibilities.”
“In fulfilling these responsibilities, I ask my fellow journalists to recognize that you play a very important role in making everything successful.”
“During your sports programs, give airtime to the Stars, build morale among fans, and invite them to come to the stadium.”
“Prominent figures from all sectors, let us carry this National Agenda. Let us use our positions to encourage our fans to go to the stadium.”
“For the quarterfinal match, let us break our record for stadium attendance, and that is very possible.”
“Leaders of Simba, Azam, Singida, KMC, and Yanga branches, use your branches to mobilize your members to come in large numbers to the stadium.”
“Just as you do for our club matches, let us do the same for our Nation. On Friday, August 22, let us go and fill Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.”
