Simba SC have so far completed the signing of 12 foreign players, but the Msimbazi Reds are yet to close their transfer window.
This means that despite some players currently being in camp in Egypt, new arrivals could still join them there.
The foreign stars currently in Simba’s squad are Moussa Camara, Rushine De Reuck, Chamou Carabou, Alassane Kante, Mohamed Bajaber, and Neo Maema.
Others include Joshua Mutale, Jonathan Sowah, Jean Charles Ahoua, Elie Mpanzu, Steven Mukwala, and Lionel Ateba.
Left-back Hernest Malonga is part of the squad training in Ismailia, and if he is signed, Simba will be forced to release one foreign player.
It is also reported that head coach Fadlu Davids has requested the addition of a foreign defensive midfielder, which would also require the club to part ways with another foreign player.
The players most at risk of being handed “Thank You” letters are Ateba and Mutale. Following the signing of Sowah, it is clear that Simba will need to release one foreign striker—either Mukwala or Ateba—so that the freed slot can be used to strengthen other areas of the squad.
