Former Simba “iron” midfielder Sadio Kanoute, nicknamed “Putin,” is set to be unveiled by Azam FC at any moment after completing his medical examinations.
Kanoute is already in Tanzania, having arrived on August 10, 2025, to finalize his transfer to the “Ice Cream Makers.”
Simba first signed Kanoute in 2021 from Libyan club Al Ahly Benghazi.
He served the Msimbazi Reds for three seasons before his contract expired, after which he joined Algeria’s JS Kabylie, recruited by former Simba coach Abdelhak Benchikha.
He has now returned to Tanzania, but this time, he will be playing against Simba.
