While Simba continues their pre-season in Ismailia, Egypt, goalkeeper Ali Salim is not among the players who traveled with the team.
There have been rumors that Salim is close to being loaned out to Namungo FC. However, he has explained the reason why he did not travel with the team to Egypt.
"The main reason I couldn’t travel was to attend to family matters, and the management has given me permission," he said.
"The transfer window has many developments and anything can happen, but the reason I’ve given you for being in Tanzania is to take care of family issues. Once everything is settled, I will leave to join my teammates in Egypt," Salim told Mwanaspoti.
"My main focus right now is on preparing for the upcoming season, which I believe will be tough due to how teams have strengthened and how they’re preparing."
Simba recently extended the contract of Hussein Abel, who last season was the third-choice goalkeeper behind Salim.
Abel and Moussa Camara are currently in Egypt along with two goalkeepers from the youth team.
Simba is still working to sign JKT Tanzania and national team goalkeeper Yacoub Suleiman, and if that deal is completed, Salim might be sent out on loan.
