Left-back Hernest Malonga from Congo-Brazzaville has arrived in Ismailia, where he will train with Simba’s squad before potentially being signed by the Msimbazi Reds, it has been revealed.
Simba Head Coach Faadlu Davids has recommended that the player join the team’s pre-season camp so he can be further assessed before signing.
Malonga is a free agent after parting ways with Singida Black Stars, a club he played for over two seasons, spending one of them on loan at Coastal Union.
The defender, who is capable of playing in all full-back positions as well as on the wing, has a strong chance of being signed.
This follows the collapse of Simba’s move to sign Khadim Diaw from Sudan’s Al Hilal. Simba had reached a personal agreement with Diaw, but his club demanded a high transfer fee.
