Simba SC officials have not given up on securing the signature of Tanzania national team’s first-choice goalkeeper, Yacoub Suleiman, who currently plays for JKT Tanzania.
During this transfer window, Simba prioritized signing Yacoub to fill the void left by Aishi Manula, who joined Azam FC after his contract with Simba expired.
However, the first offer submitted by Simba to JKT Tanzania was rejected. Now, the Msimbazi Reds are preparing to submit an improved offer.
Due to the uncertainty surrounding the signing of Yacoub, Simba extended the contract of goalkeeper Hussein Abel, who is currently with the team in pre-season training in Egypt, alongside first-choice keeper Moussa Camara and Ali Salim — who is likely to be loaned out.
Yacoub had an outstanding season, helping JKT Tanzania finish sixth in the NBC Premier League standings.
Just recently, he was part of the national team squad that kicked off the CHAN tournament in style with a 2-0 victory over Burkina Faso.
Yacoub kept goal in that match and walked away with a clean sheet.
