The stance of Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has led to the cancellation of the contract of left-back Miraji Abdallah 'Zambo' from Coastal Union.
It is reported that Fadlu had recommended the signing of left-back Anthony Mligo from Namungo FC, but contrary to his expectations, he was informed that the player signed was Zambo.
Since Simba’s honorary president, billionaire Mohamed Dewji, had granted Fadlu full authority over transfer decisions, the coach rejected the signing and insisted on acquiring Mligo instead.
Simba has successfully signed Mligo, with Fadlu emphasizing that he also needs a foreign left-back to support Mligo.
This decision has resulted in Zambo being returned to his club, Coastal Union, while the search for an additional left-back continues.
Cameroonian Jonathan Ngwem has joined Simba's pre-season camp in Egypt and is training with Fadlu's squad as part of his trial.
Last season, Ngwem played for Future FC, a club in the Egyptian Premier League. He is now a free agent after his contract with the club ended.
Additionally, Congolese player Ernest Malonga is expected to arrive in Egypt at Fadlu's request, as the coach wants to assess him before making a final decision on who should be signed between the two.
Simba is pushing to find another left-back after the deal to sign Khadim Diaw from Al Hilal fell through.
