Former Simba SC central defender Che Fondoh Malone is now an official player of Algerian side USM Alger after passing medical tests and signing a two-year contract with the former CAF Confederation Cup champions.
Speaking from Algiers after being unveiled as a new player for the club, the Cameroonian defender stated that despite leaving Simba, he still believes the Tanzanian giants are on the right path and close to achieving major success under head coach Fadlu Davids.
"Football is a journey with different stages. Today, I’m here in Algeria starting a new chapter, but my heart still holds respect for Simba. I can't leave without speaking the truth."
"Coach Fadlu Davids is building something special. I’ve worked with him, I’ve seen his tactics and how he manages the players. I believe Simba is heading toward the promised land,” Che Malone was quoted by Mwanaspoti.
In July 2023, Che Malone joined Simba from Cameroon’s Coton Sport and quickly became a key part of the Msimbazi Reds’ defense alongside Henock Inonga Baka.
He played an important role in both domestic league matches and international competitions. After Inonga departed for AS FAR Rabat in July 2024, Malone stepped up as the defensive leader, partnering with Abdulrazack Hamza and Chamou Karaboue at center-back.
“Simba is a great institution with big ambitions. Leaving is just another step in my football career,” he added.
According to an official statement from USM Alger, the transfer deal includes a clause that entitles Simba SC to 15% of any future transfer fee if Malone is sold from USM Alger to another club.
Malone leaves at a time when Simba has already signed another central defender, Rushine De Reuck (29), from Mamelodi Sundowns on a one-year contract with an extension option.
De Reuck will work alongside Abdulrazack Mohamed Hamza and Chamou Karaboue, who remain as the core of Simba's central defense.
