Mohammed Bajaber (22), winger for Polisi FC—the reigning champions of the Kenyan Premier League—may be dropped from the Harambee Stars squad set to participate in the 2024 CHAN tournament, it has emerged.
Reports indicate that Simba SC has finalized the signing of the winger, and the Msimbazi giants have requested that the player be released early to join his new club.
Simba is expected to head to Egypt for pre-season in the coming days, and head coach Fadlu Davids has requested the early arrival of some of the newly signed players.
Another new signing, Neo Maema, who is joining Simba from Mamelodi Sundowns, might remain with his national team until the end of the CHAN tournament on August 30.
Maema will captain South Africa’s Bafana Bafana squad during the competition.
