Simba SC attacking midfielder Kibu Denis has been dropped from the Tanzania national team squad (CHAN team) that will participate in the 2024 CHAN tournament scheduled from August 2 to August 30, according to reports.
A member of the Taifa Stars technical staff confirmed that Kibu is not present in Egypt, where the national team is currently holding its training camp in preparation for the tournament.
Kibu left Tanzania for the United States after the end of the Premier League season, where his family resides.
Further reports reveal that Kibu is undergoing trials with a club participating in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the USA.
If he succeeds in those trials, the club may submit an official offer to Simba SC to sign him, as he still has one year remaining on his contract with the Tanzanian giants.
Kibu is reportedly making efforts to move to the United States to reunite with his family.
