Simba SC is set to make a tough but commercially strategic decision by selling their striker, Steven Dese Mukwala.
The Ugandan player, who stood out in the previous Tanzanian Premier League season by scoring 13 goals, is now being pursued by top clubs from North and Southern Africa.
According to reports, RS Berkane of Morocco and Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa have shown strong interest in signing Mukwala and have already tabled attractive offers that appear to have convinced Simba's management.
Although the Msimbazi Reds fans were hopeful of seeing Mukwala continue wearing their jersey for another season, the situation seems to be heading in a different direction.
Simba officials believe that the funds acquired from Mukwala's transfer would enable them to sign a higher-caliber striker who can help the club perform better in both domestic and international competitions in the upcoming season.
In the recommendations made by head coach Fadlu Davids, he requested an upgrade in the striking department by bringing in a more prolific goal scorer than the current options, namely Mukwala and Lionel Ateba.
Additionally, internal sources within Simba have hinted that the club is also open to listening to offers for Ateba, who also scored 13 goals last season.
