Simba SC, based in Dar es Salaam, is undergoing major squad improvements ahead of the new competitive season and is currently reported to be in talks to sign 21-year-old defensive midfielder Imourane Hassane from Benin.
Hassane is currently playing for Loto Popo in Benin, having joined them on loan from Grasshoppers FC of the Swiss Super League. His impressive performances have made him one of the most promising defensive midfielders in Africa, and he is also part of Benin’s national team setup.
According to sources close to the Simba leadership, the Msimbazi Reds have shown a strong interest in bringing Hassane on board to strengthen the defensive midfield area, which was one of the team’s challenges last season.
If the deal is finalized, Hassane is expected to bring strong competition within Simba’s squad and provide more options for the technical bench. He is a player known for his tackling ability, game reading, and accurate passing.
Further reports indicate that Simba turned their attention to Hassane after abandoning plans to sign midfielder Balla Moussa Conte from CS Sfaxien of Tunisia.
