The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has increased the amount of money allocated for preparations for the 2025/26 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup tournaments.
Starting from last season, CAF provided USD 50,000 per team for preparations, but beginning next season, that amount will double to USD 100,000 (over TSh 260 million).
Alongside this increase, CAF has also announced a 45% rise in prize money for the Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Morocco will host the tournament from July 5 to 26 across five different cities. The winner will walk away with USD 1,000,000, a 100% increase from the previous amount, while the runner-up will receive USD 500,000. Previously, the champion received USD 500,000 and the second-placed team USD 300,000.
The team finishing third will now earn USD 350,000, fourth place will get USD 300,000, while the four teams eliminated at the quarterfinal stage will each take home USD 200,000.
All participating teams in the tournament will leave with cash prizes — third-placed teams in each group will receive USD 150,000, and fourth-placed teams will earn USD 125,000.
