Simba SC have kicked off their transfer campaign in high gear ahead of the new season, with reports indicating that they have entered into talks with Salifou Diarrassouba, an attacking midfielder from ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast, aiming to bring him to Msimbazi during this summer transfer window.
Salifou, 23, is one of the key players in the ASEC squad that finished second in the Ivorian Premier League last season. He is capable of playing both right and left wing, making him a versatile tactical option suited to Simba’s current needs.
According to sources close to the club, Simba have already contacted the player’s agent, and preliminary agreements have been reached between both parties.
“Simba initiated talks early, and there is already a basic agreement with the player. What remains now is to finalize the official registration procedures,” said a source close to the negotiations.
The signing of Salifou Diarrassouba could inject fresh energy into Simba’s attacking department, which needs reinforcement after an underwhelming season both domestically and continentally. His ability to play on both flanks gives him an edge in providing healthy competition in a squad that currently leans heavily on Elie Mpanzu, while Kibu Denis and Joshua Mutale have shown inconsistent form.
This signing is seen as part of Simba’s broader strategy to rebuild a stronger team capable of reclaiming its dominance in the Tanzanian Premier League and competing effectively in continental tournaments such as the CAF Champions League.
