Shortly after the Premier League Board (TPLB) announced that Simba had boycotted the press conference ahead of their Premier League match against Yanga scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, June 25, at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, the club posted a short message on its social media pages suggesting the team is on a break.
It could be said that Simba’s management has largely succeeded in completely distancing itself from the highly anticipated match scheduled for tomorrow.
Simba appears to have opted for silence as a way of sending a message to football authorities in the country that they were not pleased with the decision to reschedule the match.
It should be remembered that Simba had prepared to play on June 15, but changes to the fixture were made by the league board just two days before the match, without providing clear reasons for the alteration.
Players have remained in camp at Bunju, with the team continuing its preparations quietly behind the scenes.
Even if the "Mnyama" (The Beast, Simba's nickname) steps onto the pitch at Mkapa Stadium tomorrow, it will likely be in silence as well.
