Simba's squad is finalizing preparations to face Kagera Sugar in their final Premier League match of round 30, before shifting focus to the highly anticipated Kariakoo Derby. The team’s head coach, Fadlu Davids, has assigned a special task to his key players ahead of these decisive fixtures.
Fadlu, who joined Simba this season from Raja Casablanca in Morocco where he was assistant coach, has turned the team into a formidable force. They now remain the only challengers to defending champions Yanga in the title race—contrary to earlier fan expectations.
The coach has urged his star players, including top scorer Jean Charles Ahoua, Ellie Mpanzu, and Steven Mukwala, to give their all for 90 minutes against Kagera Sugar in Sunday’s league match, before turning their attention to the derby scheduled for June 25.
Simba will host already-relegated Kagera Sugar at the KMC Complex in Mwenge, Dar es Salaam, as they chase three crucial points that could keep their title hopes alive heading into the final showdown with Yanga. Coach Fadlu has fired up his squad for this mission.
Speaking to *Mwanaspoti* yesterday, the coach stated that despite their 5-0 victory over KenGold in the previous match, he wants his forwards to be more clinical in front of goal—especially in the two remaining games against Kagera and Yanga.
“We still have a chance to win the league, and that’s our main focus right now. So we must stay sharp in these last two matches—both in finishing and in defending,” said Fadlu.
In the match against KenGold, Simba created many scoring opportunities, but wasted several, including three clear chances by Ahoua—despite him scoring one goal.
Fadlu emphasized that Kagera should not be underestimated, even though they have already been relegated, as such teams often play more freely and without pressure.
