As it stands, Yanga leads the Premier League table with 73 points, followed closely by Simba with 72 points — both teams having played 27 matches. Before facing each other on June 25, each team will play two more matches:
Yanga will face Tanzania Prisons (June 18) and Dodoma Jiji (June 22).
Simba will play against KenGold and Kagera Sugar, both of which have already been relegated.
If both teams win their upcoming matches, the June 25 derby will effectively become an unofficial league final — the winner will be crowned champion. For Simba, only a win will do; for Yanga, even a draw would be enough to retain the title.
