KenGold FC, which is expected to host Simba SC in a Tanzania Premier League match on Wednesday, June 18, at Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium in Tabora, is facing major uncertainty.
So far, not a single player from the team has reported to camp in preparation for the match.
According to reports from within the club, the players were given time off after the league paused to accommodate the FIFA calendar. However, despite the break coming to an end, none of the players have returned.
Meanwhile, Simba SC's preparations are progressing well. Coach Fadlu Davidsβ squad entered camp last week to prepare for the highly anticipated match against Yanga SC, which has now been postponed to June 25.
Initially, Simba had planned to travel to Tabora after the derby match, but due to the fixture change, it is now reported that the team may leave Dar es Salaam for Tabora on Monday.
KenGold has already been relegated, and their remaining two matches are merely to fulfill the league schedule.
