Simba’s talented midfielder Yusuph Kagoma has said he does not regret his decision to join the Msimbazi Reds, as he has grown significantly as a player during his first season with the club.
Kagoma joined Simba from Fountain Gate after terminating a preliminary contract he had signed with Yanga and instead opted for Msimbazi.
Kagoma, who has also become a key player for Tanzania’s national team, Taifa Stars, said his overall football experience has transformed since joining Simba due to the different lifestyle and football environment compared to his previous teams.
“Simba is a big club with a massive fan base and is very competitive, especially in the domestic title race. I’ve also had the chance to participate in international competitions for the first time, which I’m proud of—it has opened my mind in new ways.”
“Football is about learning every day. I’m still a student of the game. I believe in working hard and embracing the learning process. Honestly, I’ve added a lot to my playing style and I’m confident I will put it into action next season,” he said.
Kagoma noted that despite Simba falling short of its goal to win the title, he considers it a major achievement to have worn a medal in his debut season.
“It wasn’t easy due to my lack of experience in such competitions, but I had senior players on the field guiding me on what to do and when. I’m proud to be part of the squad that reached the final.”
“I’m proud of these accomplishments and I promise to be even better next season. I’ll deliver something big, having learned from my past mistakes. I believe I’ve also shown many positives,” he added.
