Simba Board of Directors member Asha Baraka has stated that full preparations must be made ahead of the NBC Premier League match against Yanga, scheduled for June 15, emphasizing that the match will take place as planned.
Following the League Board's decision to reschedule the match which was originally postponed on March 8 to June 15, Yanga SC and its members have continued to release various statements, claiming they will not send their team to the pitch.
Asha, drawing from her long-standing experience and familiarity with both Simba and Yanga, believes that Yanga is simply engaging in propaganda and maintains that the match will happen.
"Let me tell you, they’ll play. Yanga will play, and my call is for people to show up at the stadium on June 15 Yanga vs. Simba. Do you really know these clubs? There’s no need for statements. How many statements are released on social media? Do you think they’re all true?"
"They will play. We don’t want their propaganda, and we don’t want them running away whether they like it or not, they will play. The League Board has announced the match. Who’s going to refuse? They’re just afraid of losing, that’s all the noise is about. And this season, we’re taking the championship," Asha declared confidently.
The Simba squad entered camp yesterday to begin preparations for the match, as the team, nicknamed “Mnyama” (The Beast), seeks three crucial points to position themselves well in the title race.
If Yanga fails to show up at the stadium, it will still be to Simba’s advantage, as league regulations state that Simba would be awarded three points and three goals, while their rivals would lose 15 points.
