Simba's Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ali, has confirmed that goalkeeper Aishi Manula is among the players whose contracts are nearing their end.
However, he stated that the goalkeeper’s future lies in the hands of the technical bench, depending on whether they want to retain him or not.
“Manula's contract ends at the end of the season, but the responsibility of deciding who stays and who leaves lies with the technical bench.”
“Although Manula didn’t get playing time this season, that does not take away his reputation as a top goalkeeper, who many teams would love to have.”
“His fate will be decided by the technical bench and the management, and once a decision is made, we will inform our members and fans,” said Ahmed.
There are reports that Manula is close to returning to his former employers, Azam FC, as he waits for his contract to officially end at the end of this month.
This season has been tough for Manula, as he did not play in any competitive matches.
The problems began after a match against Yanga last season, in which he was in goal and conceded five goals. That match led Simba’s management to suspend him in order to investigate allegations of "sabotage."
