Simba SC goalkeeper Moussa Camara appears to be in a strong position to win the Best Goalkeeper of the Season award for the 2024/2025 Tanzanian Premier League, after recording his 17th clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over Singida Black Stars.
The match was played at the KMC Complex, where Simba secured an important win that keeps them in a strong position to continue challenging for the league title this season.
That victory took Simba’s points tally to 72, just one point behind league leaders Yanga SC, who have 73 points.
Camara has continued to shine between the posts for Simba since the season began, and his 17th clean sheet has put him at the top of the race for the Golden Glove award, ahead of his main rival Djigui Diarra of Yanga, who has 15 clean sheets.
So far, no other goalkeeper has come close to that record, giving Camara a clear edge in the competition. With three matches remaining — against Yanga, Kagera Sugar, and Kengold — Camara needs just two more clean sheets to reach 19 and virtually seal the award.
What remains for Camara now is to showcase his quality in these three tough upcoming matches, especially the derby against Yanga — which will not only be decisive in the title race but also carry extra weight in the battle between the league’s top two goalkeepers: Camara and Diarra.
If Camara can keep clean sheets in at least two of those remaining three matches, the Best Goalkeeper of the Season title will be his, without question.
This season has been exceptional for Camara, who has displayed strength, discipline, and outstanding goalkeeping ability for Simba. The three-match journey ahead may be short, but it could become historic for both him and Simba SC.
